Amit Schejter

Professor of Communication Ben Gurion University of the Negev

Amit Schejter, a full professor of Communication at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev; and the chairperson of The Association for Civil Rights Israel (ACRI). Prior to that he was the president of Oranim Academic College of Education, and before that he served as the Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities faculty and as the Head of the Communication Department, both at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Amit is the author and editor of seven books, published more than 70 articles and is the founding editor of Journal of Information Policy. In the past he was member of staff and head of the Institute for Information Policy at Penn State University, advisor to The Ministers of Education and Culture-Yitshak Navon and Shulamit Aloni, legal advisor and in charge of International Relations at Israel Broadcasting Authority, and Regulation COO at Cellcom. He holds a L.L.B. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an M.A. in mass communication from Boston University and Ph.D in information policy and communication from Rutgers University. He lives in Tel Aviv.
