Avi Novis Deutsch is the VP of the Kiryat Tivon Community Network and a lecturer at Midreshet Schechter and the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary. Previously, he was also the Dean of the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary and served as a pulpit rabbi at two Masorti congregations in Israel, including Haminyan Hamishpachti Masorti in Kfar Veradim. Rabbi Deutsch also worked as a Jewish educator in Berkeley and the Bay Area, California, and was one of the founders of BeZavta—specialized study groups accessible to people with intellectual disabilities that operated throughout Israel. He holds an M.A. in Jewish studies from JTS, was a leadership fellow at the Mandel Institute for Educational Leadership, and spent eight years as a yeshiva student. He lives in Hanaton.
