Ella Deri, a program manager at Aluma – giving teens and young adults opportunities for meaningful service, higher education, and employment. She is currently leading the Council for Higher Education’s program to make academic studies accessible to graduates of the Haredi education system and to support the students on their way to success. The programs she managed in the past included an initiative to assist students from the periphery to enter STEM professions and Israel’s first Social Impact Bonds program, dedicated to reducing the dropout rate from higher education. She holds a B.A. in political science and human resource management from Bar Ilan University and an M.A. in management and public policy from Ben Gurion University, and graduated from the nonprofit sector directors’ course at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. Ella is married and the mother for four sons. She grew up and still lives in Moshav Bnei Darom, a religious and agricultural cooperative community.
