Ran Cohen Harounoff, the Co Founder CEO of Early Starters International, which works globally to promote early childhood education and development (Greece, Haiti, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi, and Liberia); and is also a Co-founder of Yalduta, the Organization for Change in Early Childhood. Prior to that he founded and managed the Early Childhood Education Department at the Institute for Democratic Education and also founded the kindergarten network Ran’s Kindergarten and the progressive primary school Kessem. For several years, Ran has advised the National Department of Pre-Primary Education at the Ministry of Education and led, along with policy makers in several cities, the implementation of innovative reforms in early childhood education throughout Israel. Ran writes and creates for children. His books lead the bestseller lists in Israel, and three of his books were adapted for theater. Together with his brother he initiated the successful award-winning children’s project The Treehouse Kids. He holds a B.E. in early childhood education from David Yellin College and an M.A. in education from the Ben Gurion University, and graduated from the organizational and development consultation program at the Ofek Institute. Ran has three children and lives in Beit Nekofa.
