Sagi Wasserman, a community facilitator for the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Sagi also heads the sustainability center and serves as accessibility liaison. Before that he founded Tzameret, a nationwide youth movement that strove to create a shared society of people with diverse identities; headed a community drive to establish a public school for both religious and secular children based on socio-environmental principles and innovative tools; spearheaded a venture to train physical education teachers, both Jews and Arab, to empower children and youth through sports; and helped establish Israel’s National Service program. Sagi is a hands-on entrepreneur and social leader, focusing on the rural community sphere and acting to strengthen a diverse and united society in Israel that draws its strength from connecting between different cultures and identities. He serves as a board member for the Friends of Joha NGO and is involved in other social initiatives. Sagi is also an active environmentalist, a farmer, and a beekeeper. He holds a BA, with honors, in management and economics from the Open University, and an MA in Jewish studies from Ono Academic College. He lives with his wife Galit and their three children in Sde Boaz in Gush Etzion.
