Tal Frenkel Alroy

Teacher and Curator Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design

Dr. Tal Frenkel Alroy, multi-disciplinary researcher of poetics in the fields of literature and poetry, art and design. For the past decade she has been teaching at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and in Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art. In addition, she serves as chief curator at the B.Y5 gallery in Tel Aviv, which belongs to the Association of Creative Artists in Israel. Tal is a goldsmith and designer, and her work is shown in exhibitions in Israel and abroad. She wrote three books of poetry and non-fiction that were published between 2002 and 2021. Tal holds a BA in multidisciplinary art from Tel Aviv University; an MA summa cum laude in the combined track at the Department of Hebrew Literature at Ben Gurion University of the Negev; another MA summa cum laude in Industrial Design (MDes) at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design; and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the Department of Hebrew Literature at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. As a social activist she volunteered at the Elifelet non-profit for immigrant children, and initiated the Draw Me – a Child project to protest the arrest of Palestinian children by the State of Israel. Lives in Tel Aviv. Mother of three daughters.
