Yair, the founder and artistic director of Tahrir, a Mizrachi Culture Bar, a businessman, social activist, musician and a paytan (a lithurgical poet). Tahrir is a unique and innovative culture center that since its founding has become an establishment in Jerusalem that is a stage and a magnet for the mizrahi culture, including all its aspects, and for creative development, from the ancient tradition of sepharadic poetry to the multidisciplinary mizrahi creation of our times. Yair studied the basic roots of mizrahi music and piyyut at home and in the synagogue and deepened his knowledge of the mizrahi classical music and the Maqam music doctrine in educational institutes, such as the Renanot Institute of Hazanut and the Centre for Middle Eastern Classical Music in Mousrara. In the past, Yair has held management roles in building companies and even founded an independent business of his own. He lives in Jerusalem.
